You can update your email address, name, date of birth, and more information on your account. You can also change your ID, but only once every 72 hours.

When you update your account information, you’ll either:

  • enter a security code if you set up Login Verification; or
  • answer the security question you set up when you created your account, if you don’t have Login Verification turned on.

To update your account:

  1. Go to the About Me tab in your Account Settings.
    • You can get here from the Origin client, origin.com, or ea.com.
  2. Click Edit to update your ID, name, email, and date of birth, or update your country of residence and language.
  3. Answer your security question or enter your Login Verification code to confirm your identity, then change away!

Step 1 – Make sure your email address is up to date

It’s super important that the email address on your EA Account is up to date. It’s key to making sure you can get back into your account if you forget your password or when you want to update your information.

Swap emails from one account to another, if you’ve changed your email address or you don’t have access to the one you used to create your account.

Add a secondary email

A secondary email address helps you reset your password if you’re locked out of your EA Account and primary email address.

Learn how to set it up in our article on updating your EA Account information.

Step 2 – Change your security question

Forget your answer? Update your security question if you set up your account a while ago and things have changed.

Step 3 – Set up Login Verification

Login Verification is great way to help keep your account safe and secure. Make sure you’re getting your Login Verification codes so you can get signed in.

  • Playing FIFA? We require Login Verification.

Step 4 – Check your password

Reset your password if you forgot it or it needs updating.

Step 5 – Link your accounts

  • PC players: Make sure you’ve downloaded and can log in to Origin.

Use our tips to redeem your codes for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Step 1 - Find your code

There are two kinds of codes you might get: character and QR.

  • Character codes are a string of numbers and letters, and will look something like this: ABCD-1234-EFGH-5678
  • QR codes kind of look like barcodes, but as a dotted square. There's an example of one to the right.

TIP: After you type in the code, read it backwards. You'll spot mistakes easier.

I'm not sure if my game installed

Digital copies should install to your system as soon as your download is done. If that doesn’t happen, try these steps to manually install:

PlayStation 4

  1. Open your Notifications from the XMB, or main PlayStation menu.
  2. Choose Downloads and find your game download file.
  3. Press the Options button and select Install.

Xbox One

  1. Navigate to your Download History from the main Xbox Menu.
  2. Select your game file and press the menu button.
  3. Select Install.

If your installation freezes, gets stuck, or fails, your game file may have corrupted while downloading.

We recommend deleting or manually uninstalling any files that made it through the installation process, then download and install your game again.

Once you install your game, restart your game or console. This makes sure your system checks for game updates.
